Sam Crowther

Business Manager

Sam Crowther is the Business Manager for Cablenet, prior to this he was Upper North Island Regional Manager for Advanced Security,.


Sam joined Advanced Security in January 2018 as Contracts Manager and was promoted to Regional Manager in November that same year.


While Sam’s background prior to joining Advanced Security was not directly in access control or intruder detection he did have previous experience in CCTV from previous roles. When Sam left school, he went directly onto the tools in the fire alarm industry working in projects and service, then moving into a role installing low voltage systems such as Nurse Call, MATV and intercoms.


Over the many years, Sam has been focused on moving off the tools and into management which is where he found a new passion. He's forever learning and has now had roles spanning project management and regional management.


Sam loves what he does because of his team. He believes that without a strong and entrusted team you cannot accomplish anything - all our business accomplishments are a direct result of this principle. He enjoys seeing staff step into new roles and overcoming challenges ultimately helping them succeed, which is a key driver for him.


Creating an environment where staff, as well as customers can lean in for support is important for Sam. He enjoys working with people and organisations to align their security needs with innovative solutions for the future.

National Operations Manager

Terry Powell is the Accounts Director for Cablenet, working with the group managers and office operations in Auckland.  


Terry’s work began 35 years ago, where he took on the tools in the practical side of IT communications. Terry has been part of the Cablenet team for over 20 years and has expanded his knowledge of the business to running innovative operations. 


When he’s not in the office, he makes the most of catching up with his 2-year-old grand-daughter and making the most of New Zealand’s outdoors.  


Terry is an exceptional customer-facing director, and he values the importance of creating engaging conversations with his staff and clients. He has found the most rewarding part of his job to be the relationships made and retained throughout his employment.  

Office Manager

Julleen is the Office Manager at Cablenet and has taken charge of the day-to-day office operations for over 17 years. 


Julleen knows the business inside-out and has built exceptional skills to uphold a strong and cohesive team. Her role in the business inspires her to challenge herself in new business operations, and she enjoys the opportunity to strengthen her skill sets. 


Julleen lives on the very outskirts of Auckland, where she can spend quality time with her two daughters and four grandchildren.


Steve Higgins

Matt Doody

Account Manager

Steve is the Account Manager for Cablenet and has been part of the Senior Management team for most of his Cablenet career. He began his work on the practical side of IT but has since spent the last 16 years working on the day-to-day operations of the company and retaining strong relationships with clients.


A work milestone for Steve was achieving a Nationwide contract with the Ministry of Education, where the team worked on improving over 100 schools IT communications and utilising almost 100 staff at the time. Steve enjoys the challenge of pursuing the next big contract to create successful and long-lasting partnerships with businesses. 


Outside of work, he spends his afternoons on the tennis court, but is an all-rounder for enjoying competitive sports. 


Steve is looking forward to the next chapter of joining the TPT Group family and is excited for the new challenges that his role will bring to the table.

               Account Manager

Matt is the Account Manager for Cablenet, who offers his long-built industry knowledge to provide great expertise for his customers.  


Matt has achieved 27 years in the data cabling industry and gained over 18 years’ experience on site as a data technician. He has successfully integrated his practical work passions into his account manager role, where he can ensure that customers’ needs are being met first-hand. 


Matt continues his interest in technology into his spare time, where he enjoys gaming and trying out all things electronic. He has been with his partner for 22 years and they enjoy regular family movie nights with their daughter. 


With a focus on customer success and engagement, Matt enjoys his role working with the Cablenet team and his customers. He appreciates the opportunities to experience a variety of work and visit multiple sites – he’s always on the move to empower his customers.

General Manager Commercial

TPT Group

Steven is the General Manager Commercial for TPT Group, he is a passionate finance executive with a successful track record across different industries. (Retail, FMCG manufacturing, medical/healthcare, supply chain)


He is a commercially focused finance generalist with extensive experience in strategy, FP&A, controlling, business partnering, continuous improvement, M&A’s, IT, cost accounting and project management.


He has a strong expertise in treasury, financial risk management and internal controls.


Steven has a proven track record of coaching, mentoring and developing high performing teams.


He has successfully delivered on a broad range of highly complex strategic initiatives, restructures and organisational projects, delivering short term cost savings and long-term growth opportunities.


Steven also leads Technology Leasing NZ.

General Manager People, Systems & Communications TPT Group

Ester is the General Manager People, Culture and Systems and looks after all the non-financial head office functions. Ester joined Advanced Security in Auckland in 2008 as the Service Coordinator.

After other administrator roles within the Group, in 2013 Ester stepped into the HR Manager role, completing HR Foundations in 2014. In the same year she started a Bachelor of Business Degree which she finally completed in 2020. Ester also became a Chartered Member of HRNZ in 2020.

Between 2013 and 2021 Ester’s team has grown from being just her to 6, now supporting the business with Head Office functions.

Ester is incredibly proud of all that her team accomplish every day and acknowledges that without them, the great outcomes reached every day wouldn’t be achieved.

Marketing & Brand Lead

TPT Group

Rebecca is the Group Brand and Marketing Lead for TPT Group, and manages all marketing and comms planning, content, strategies, and activities.


Rebecca joined TPT Group in 2020 with over a decade of experience in marketing, events, design and communications roles, and a strong sales background. She has a Bachelor of Communications majoring in Events Management, and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Marketing.


Having carved out a niche working with businesses in tech, Rebecca enjoys the challenge and people-centred aspects of creating strong insightful brand stories that deliver results and create positive change.


In her day-to-day role, she collaborates with nearly every department across the Group to share who we are and uncover opportunities to lead the business forward with a cohesive marketing approach.


Outside of work, Rebecca describes herself as a mama and wife, a crafter, writer, photographer, music listener, sustainability-warrior, brunch-er, and lazy day adventurer.

Cablenet Limited is committed to sound corporate governance that will ensure the company operates as efficiently as possible while providing for the appropriate level of accountability and transparency. The Board guides strategic direction and context and focuses on issues critical for the businesses successful execution.

The Board delegates management of the day-to-day affairs of the company to the Executive Team under the leadership of the Group Chief Executive Officer to deliver the strategic direction and goals determined by the Board.

Mike Marr - Managing Director & Group CEO

Appointed: October 1999


Mike is the founder and owner of TPT Group. He also holds non-executive director roles within the Group, and other independent director roles.


He holds qualifications in electrical trade, electrotechnology, an Advanced Dip. Business, Dip. Management, Dip.  Integrated Risk Management and a Dip. Project Management.


In 2020, Mike was acknowledged as a BLAKE Leader Awardee. This prestigious award recognises inspirational New Zealanders whose leadership style has delivered high-impact results, and contributed to a more sustainable future for Aotearoa.

2017, he was one of two Global recipients of the Beta Gamma Sigma Medallion of Entrepreneurship (the first recipient to be awarded the Global honour outside of the USA).  The Medallion for Entrepreneurship is awarded to noteworthy Global business people who combine innovative business achievement with service to humanity.

In 2014 he was a finalist in the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Awards for NZ.  He was also recognised by Entrepreneur’s Organisation in 2011 with the ‘Make A Mark’ award.

​Mike is a Board Member of several New Zealand Not for Profit organisations including being the Chair of The Runway Foundation.  Mike and his wife Terese founded The Runway Foundation in 2015, a registered NZ Charitable Trust providing support for families experiencing the challenge of ADHD but also to support the wider community.  He is a strong believer in giving back to the community and supports several charities and community initiatives, including Lifewise, Community Food Banks and Crisis Funds.


​He is a member of the AUT University Business School Advisory Board, an Independent Director of Waipa Networks an electricity lines company, as well as Eqalis Pharmaceuticals Ltd and Rhema Media.


He is a Pukekohe High School old boy and he and his wife Terese are deeply supportive of many community initiatives.

Graeme Hansen - Independent Chair

Appointed: July 2014


Graeme was the Managing Director of Barclays Private Banking globally and also held CEO roles for Barclays in Canada, Australia and New Zealand, spanning 13 years.  He has been CEO of both the New Zealand Racing Board and Public Trust in New Zealand.  In addition to TPT Group company roles, he also chairs other private entrepreneurial firms. His previous governance roles include independent directorships for The Warehouse Group Financial Services, PGGW Finance, the NZ Spinal Trust and Toronto East General Hospital.

Brendan Wood - Independent Director


Appointed: July 2014


Brendan is a highly regarded New Zealand commercial lawyer residing in Auckland as a Partner with Daniel Overton & Goulding.  Brendan specialises in acquisitions, commercial law and commercial property.  He also holds various Independent Trustee roles as well as Non-Executive Director roles.  Previous roles include being a Non-Executive Director of listed company Just Water International.

Ken Davis- Independent Director

Appointed: September 2019


Ken is a successful New Zealand entrepreneur having founded and grown CodeBlue, an IT services business, into a nationwide organisation.  Ken is also owns businesses internationally which are associated with software development, artificial intelligence and machine learning.  Previous to CodeBlue, Ken was the General Manager of Toshiba Corporation.
